We have a 2011 EX AWD with 30K miles. Recommended service includes. Coolant flushing, Transmission flushing, Brake flushing, Power steering flushing, Fuel system flushing. Total cost I'm sure between $500 to $1K. What is the consensus by the Kia population on what really should be done.

Who recommended that service...the commission service writer at the stealership?

Coolant--I'll run mine 5 years. I expect the corrosion inhibitors to still be good that long.
-Transmission--probably good for 100,000 miles, but I'll do a partial drain and refill maybe every 30,000, not an expensive full flush. The fluid does deteriorate, but modern fluids live much longer.
-Brake fluid flush--2 years for me. Brake fluid is hygroscopic (holds water), and when it picks up moisture from the atmosphere it's ability to avoid vaporizing at the high temperature of emergency braking is reduced.
-Power steering flush--You can suck out the old fluid with a turkey baster and refill with suitable fluid...keeps the fluid fresh and working well. It does oxidize slowly over time, not 30,000 miles, though
-Fuel system flush--forget about it.

30k serive is and oil change, rotate if needed, check/replace the filters, and a number of inspections. Trans and coolant services are not even on the severe schedule until 60k. I work at a dealer no way would I recommend all that at 30k.

Again, where did you get these recommendations? Consult your manual. For example, the coolant isn't recommended to be changed until 120,000 miles or 10 years. I could quote you the other services as well as I'm looking at the manual right now, but I suggest you do the same and save yourself some wasted time and money. ;)

I always carry my owners manual with me to my service appointment, and when the service adviser start's telling me about all the services the factory recommends for my Kia. I pull out the manual and politely ask them to show me where it states the extra services they are recommending be done. They then say it is because of the severe driving conditions I do. I flip to that section of the book and ask them to point out in which category my diving conditions relate to. When they cannot I smile and say lets start form the beginning and I usually get no more flak and they done't try to up-sell me anymore (until they leave and new service adviser takes there place).

That's a great idea. I'm going to have to bring it along with me too, even though it's huge.

One of the previous appts, my service adviser said some service was "recommended". I said I don't remember seeing it in my owner's manual, calling his bluff. He then said, oh, it's something that was added since the owner's manual was printed. I said I didn't receive any notification from Kia and declined the service. It was something that was to be done at a later time...either flush steering fluid or brakes, I think.

I also asked, several times, for a handout that listed all service. Did that when I bought the car and every time I go in. They always don't have any to hand out...just what's on a big board. I notice that it sometimes changes and doesn't match the owner's manual too.

As everyone else says, as long as you follow owner's manual, your good.
