I’ll throw in what I paid. I just picked up a 21 Kia Sorrento S with the Pano roof for 33K. I probably could have gotten it lower but I didn’t care to sit and negotiate with them. The MSRP was over 34
FWD or AWD? I just got the same car in FWD...

Black on Black SX FWD W/PRESTIGE PKG. 42K Out the door. Would not budge on the price but gave me $1,500 more then the KBB on my trade.

Sorento SX Prestige w/X-Line Package AWD (Black exterior, Rust Leather Package).

43,975 plus TTL

I had to drive 90 miles to get that. My local dealership wanted a 3,500 dollar premium over sticker, now that they've run out of Tellurides (which all had a 6,000 markup).

I told my local guy if he'd drop the fee, I'd buy it, but he refused.

What dealership did you go to? I'm in SoCal as well. Thanks!
I went to Van Nuys Kia. I would get quotes through True Car. A bunch will come back with numbers lower than what's online. You can compare based on that, and you should be able to negotiate a lower price than the True Car price. For example, Kia Carson offered $31,791, but they didn't have the color I wanted, so I called Van Nuys, said another dealer offered this, and that I'm at $31k. Held strong and ended up paying $31150 (after the $500 rebate).

oops. Just realized you were replying to someone else. I'll just leave my response in case it's helpful to someone else.

Top of the line here in AUS is the GT Line, it's similar to the SX Prestige I believe.

Comes standard with panoramic sunroof, Bose sound system, 10.25" entertainment screen, AWD, 2.2L Diesel, Napa Leather Interior, powered tailgate, Full LED lights in and out (except reverse light and vanity mirror lights), 12" Instrument cluster and upgraded 20" wheels (although I've already swapped mine out to 22").

Going rate for this model is about $70,000AUD, but can haggle a better deal.

I got mine with Tow Bar, Window Tint, Roof Racks and Floor Mats with 12 months registration for $65,000AUD

Can we get some interior shots? Would love to compare the seats between the north American and Australian version

Hi Mate,

Yeah I can get some interior shots for you. I'm at work for the next few days, leave in the dark and get home in the dark so I'll post some pics towards the end of the week.

I wish I had that turn knob to shift with. My big cups get in the way of the shifter in my N.A. model. Ditto on the memory seat.
14-way power driver’s seat (including 4-way lumbar support and cushion extension), IMS(Integrated Memory System) driver’s seat with 2 seating position memory

Yup microtrip shortage is what they are saying will only push to MSRP or higher for the short term. We paid sticker but did get more for trade-in than typically.

If you are in the market for a Sorento SX Prestige in the Sacramento, CA area...hold on to that wallet. My wife and I were looking at Tellurides, but we said no way to a $5000 markup over MSRP. I did a 200 mile search and did find one dealer in the SF bay area doing $2700 over MSRP. Since that was still too high and since we had a 2017 Sorento, we were curious about the new 2021s. We did a test drive and my wife loved it. Luckily I did my research. The same bay area dealer doing the $2700 markup on the Telluride had no markup on a white SX Prestige they had in stock. Our local dealers are marking up those $4000-5000 over. The one we wanted was Sapphire Blue with a MSRP of $42,375.

At negotiation time, I told the sales mgr that I needed no markup as one of my requirements. He looked at me like I was fool and said I was egregious. LOL. I said yeah, I can drive 1 1/2 hours and save $5000. They came back with $2500 over and I laughed. Reminded him our current car was a 2017 with 45,000 miles and this was a want, not a need. They caved in with no markup and gave us above KBB on our trade in (used car shortage worked to our advantage) and I caved in on asking to remove the $800 LoJack they said was mandatory.

BTW, a few days after the sale, I found the following on the dealership website. "The advertised price excludes the purchase of this anti-theft system, which can be purchased for an additional cost or removed from the vehicle at the time of sale." Basically I was lied to. The mgr I complained to said he didn't know that. Even with proof, they mentioned mandatory. I filed a claim with the BBB. If that fails, next stop is the Office of the California State Attorney General. Sorry about this long essay, hehe.

I ended up paying around 39500 USD before TTL and dealer fee for a white SX Prestige. I wanted a blue bit couldn't find one. I think I got an okay deal I had to travel a few hours to this dealership, so I think they knew I really wanted this car so less room to move. Which can be a benefit or con depending on how hard dealerships need to move. Didn't negotiate too much on my trade in which I should have done.

Going to dealership is draining. I got the out the door price which I recommend which will save a bit of time through email.

I am assuming the 2022 models will come out a few months? Which might be better to wait to get a deal but who knows as I have seen used Tellurides selling above MSRP:eek:.

Might have got a Telluride but they seem much harder to find. Probably lot less discount which the sorento is already top of the budget. Only two things lacking imo is dual pane windows for quieter ride, as I hear lots of tire noise. And also AWD SX Prestige. End rant.

We just got our X-Line for MSRP. Several dealers wanted around $3k above MSRP for it, but luckily the only one that had a color we wanted (black, white, or silver was everywhere) was willing to sell it for MSRP and gave us KBB value for our 8-year-old 125k mile trade-in.

37 flat, Hybrid EX

Out the door, MA tax title all that jazz, 39765

I felt ok getting a G off the sticker when the dealers in my area were either adding 4k right out of the gates, or straight up refusing to discount a cent off the sticker. I'll be driving over 2 hours for this one, signing this weekend picking up some time next week.

Sorry I don't have the exact numbers but for our X-Line we were able to get $1k off MSRP which really surprised me. This was in Chicago. Another dealer in the area wanted $1500 above and wouldn't budge.

Tomorrow will be one month and we are loving it.
