Proceed is today 1 year old. I had to prolong the registration.
I have immaculate driving record and zero damages in the past 17 years. (otherwise insurance could be twice what I paid).

1. Mandatory insurance, 425 EUR
2. Full insurance incl. theft (the only exclusions are damage on purpose, drunk drivings and flooded car parked near river): 300 EUR
3. Technical inspection, eco tax, road tax, registration service: 75 EUR
4. Yearly luxury tax (yes, Kia 1.4 and every other car or bike >50 cc is luxury in my country!): 82 EUR

TOTAL: 882 EUR

Avg. salary in Croatia: 650-700 EUR net

Yippi ye.
Welcome, neoliberal capitalism.

2nd (20k) service due on my 1.4 Pro.

My local dealer who supplied the car new wanted ÂŁ243. I had previously called another main dealer and they quoted ÂŁ185 for the same service!
When i said this to my dealer he asked me to hang on..........He then said they could do it for the same! I held on the phone for ages while he allegedly spoke to the service manager, i reckon they called the other dealer to get confirmation that i wasnt trying it on!

So its going in on the 4th. Fortunately theres nothing wrong with the car beyond the park brake has excessive travel but this will be done anyway as part of the service i would think but it will be mentioned anyway..

Just had my 1st year/20,000 mile service (done 7200 miles!) at NMG Kia in Norwich.

Cost was ÂŁ185 for the service, plus ÂŁ35 for the bodywork inspection. I had a 20% discount voucher, so effectively got the bodywork inspection for nowt.

They seemed pretty thorough, got lots of paperwork, including a report on various things. I know they checked the brakes, as they had to ring me up asking where the alloy wheel key was .

Only additional "advisory" was that the pollen filter was a bit dirty. Might get someone to look at it, and give the system a clean at some point.

They also gave me a quote for a service plan, covering 3 annual services. Quoted about ÂŁ850. Bearing in mind I already have quotes for 40,000/60,000/80,000 and they are between ÂŁ200-ÂŁ250 this doesn't sound like great value, although I would be protected against future price rises. Would also mean being tied to one dealer for future services.

3rd year service 30.000km ,
131€, but they took only 130 :p
the standard oil/filters replaced.
the drop links were replaced and some cleaning on the clutch assembly so it stops squeaking, free - warranty.
i found out that my car was apparently hit just left of the boot door button, into the bumper. i realized it because the bumpers top area, where you would put that bumper protection plastic, has risen and is scratching into my boot door. no visible damage, only the deformity which scratches against the door edge. weird.

2nd service ÂŁ185 (Kia Chapelhouse Warrington)

semi synthetic oil ÂŁ26.37
gasket- oil plug ÂŁ1.49
screen wash ÂŁ2.00
brake cleaner ÂŁ4.09
brake fluid ÂŁ8.00
filter assy-engine ÂŁ7.07

3rd service due soon, called for a quote....ÂŁ338, got a better quote with another main dealer....ÂŁ256, called original dealer back and got a new quote of ÂŁ245! ÂŁ100 saved with a couple of phone calls! And theyre going to clean it inside and out too apparently! So its going in next week. I will report on the service etc once theyve done it.

It's wrong that dealers are charging so much more in the first place if they can cut ÂŁ90 of their price.
Around our way, we only have one Kia dealer and that's 45 mins drive, so I don't really have much choice. Still, their prices seem pretty good anyway.

Tunbridge Wells Kia (AutoPlanet) have quoted me ÂŁ167 for the Pro's first service in September :)

Considering I paid ÂŁ235 for our little Picanto Strike in Gillingham, that was a nice surprise.

Well the service was done yesterday and to be honest as i had got them to knock a substantial amount off i was expecting a few little "extras" to be added to the bill. Nope! The price came out exactly as quoted at ÂŁ245 and the car was cleaned inside and out.

Thumbs up yet again to Westdrive Kia Braintree. I guess thats why they are a Platinum dealer.
