I received and installed the new coils and shocks, front and rear. Yes the shocks are longer than the original ones. The front lifted about 50 mm. The rear lifted about 40 mm. I did not have to make any modification exept for the rear break hoses. I had to remove the bracket bolts and re-adjust the hoses to make sure they won't break due to the lifting. I also had to re-adjust the low beams. I drove my Borrego about 5000 km since the modification and I like it a lot. The ride is more comfortable. Those Kyb shocks are of good quality and not very expensive. However I noted that the new rear set up was still a bit stiff especially when I ride off road. That is why I ordered a set of Bilstein shocks #4600 that are listed as an equivalent and as those are mono tubes. They should arrive within the next 40 days. They front set works very good for me.
I have also followed the advise and ordered
2x KYB 341232 (from europe)
2x KYB 344288 (from europe)
2 x ome 2881 (ebay)
2 x ome 2891 (ebay)
and I have installed everything myself
Definitely front struts are little longer PITA to squeeze in but manageable...
Overall I too confirm that front is about like 3inch lifted and the rear like 2.5inch lifted....(my original springs were tired)
Rear ride quality much improved ...front just little bit.
I like how the car looks now lifted and now i fitted Michelin Defender LTX 275 60 18 tires with bigger offset whells...looks like proper truck.
Will post pics later.

I would be too interested in Bilstein P/N and I think for the front it would be probably better to use spring with same length but little lower spring rate ...and then the front will be more comfy too.

for rear coils u need 2 rubbers for each coil
553232J000 (up) and 553312B000 (down) + a lower lever for coil with saddle, because levers are different with air ones.

yes, kyb is kayaba. I do not recommend to buy Tokico shocks U3752(front) and E3740 (rear) because their quality not so good as kyb past times. They also installs in stock spaces, without any upgrades. The only reason to take Tokico is if you wont be able to get kyb. You can also use Tokico shocks with ome coils without any problems in installation.

btw i also have not found a Prado 90 shocks at your market, probably they have here different numbers.

The setup i described, the one most cheap and maximum comfortable for those money.

I know people who took 2892 coils (they are +300kg) were disappointed of too high lift and very stiff back side. they even took it off and cut 1 or 2 coils turns to make it softer. So my choice is 2891 (+150ks) is gold middle for solo driving and with baggage without any cutting.

also people have here many other setups, even full air system with front also, it cost here 2k$ aprox to make it from full stock. Front racks are build with koni in that case, they are not too tiff with air pneumatic balloons. Also people use lexus coils instead of ome, but in that case need some modernization of housing pads. so not worth also.

and 1 more, in case of full upgrade u will need to move a bit rear brakes hose mounting, because with new coils your wheel way with hanging will be much more longer than in stock, like 2 times longer, and it can break breaks hoses.

sorry for my english.
Hi, I want to use springs and shocks in the rear. Are you saying I need new lower control arms? is that what you refer to as levers? If so, which ones do I need?

Thank you.

Hello, I'm hoping your contact with this forum is still good. I need some advice. I have a 2009 Kia Mohave EX with the V6. I want to replace the rear suspension air bags with coil springs. The rear air suspension system is plagued with problems and parts are very expensive. I see that the Borrego has rear coil springs. Is it possible to do this with the Mohave? I have a home here in Colombia and parts here are very expensive and shipping from outside the country is not cheap either. Some companies in Korea will ship free which is good. Thanks for your help.
