What Color..?

What color did you get, are you happy with it, and if you could do it again, is there a different color you would have gotten?

I can't seem to pick. I like the dark gray (is that mineral?), twilight blue, techno orange, and sand track also.

What to choose.. :/

EDIT: Well, I plan on the EX.. so that eliminates the Techno Orange.

Guess you are in the US, not that makes much difference to colors (only model definitions). I/we drive a Clear White turbo diesel 6 spd. auto. Not necessarily our first color choice when looking, but it became available at a can't-refuse-price and we are very happy with it. Easy to clean, doesn't necessarily show the road grime tooooo much, and looks great when all clean and shiny.
Our original choices were: he = Sand Track or Heritage Blue; she = Mineral Silver (didn't like the Sand Track). These were not available while we were shopping, not prepared to wait the 6-8 months, and after test driving the white, we picked it up at a demonstrator price.

I wanted Orange Juice, but due to a snow storm it was delayed and a really needed a car (I did sold my previous car 2 weeks before) so I settled for Sand Castle (brown-ish) and it is good. I mean, the car hasn't been stolen in more than 3 month! (long enough for my satellite radio service to end...)

I test drove a White one and it wasn't for me. Red... liked the red but have owned too many red cars and currently have a red one in the driveway. The Orange is cool but I wasn't in the market for the tricked out model.

I ended up going with Twilight Blue. I think it should be called Midnight Blue because it is on the dark side... but I like it a lot.

I've never been a fan of blending in so I went for the Techno Orange straight away. The color was sold as soon as I saw the very first Korean promo's for the Type-R.

I have to say though, the Pristine White (Arctic White) does looks very very smart of these types of vehicles. I can say the same for the Nissan Juke in the white, very appealing. Everytime I see one in white, I think "Hmmmm...should I have gotten a white?!" but that thought is quickly evaporated with the knowledge that it must be the most impossible color to keep clean.

I purchased the Clear White (as it is called here in North America) - mainly due to the fact that it was the only SX model on the lot, and my wife was very fond of the White.

I am quite sick of the number of grey, silver, or dark grey cars that you see on the road today. White was a welcome change from the status quo on the road. While White can show dirt, it's not nearly as bad as a black one. I used to have a black car, and even after washing it, it still looked dirty. White hides the dirt if it is subtle, if it is more than that, I wash it by hand anyways.. ;)

Every white vehicle I've ever had never seemed to get as dirty as every non-white vehicle I've ever had.

And like the previous poster indicated, it seems like every vehicle on the road is some shade of silver, brown, or black.

So I decided to go with white on my Sportage.

I've had it two months, washed it once, and it still looks clean.

Wanted SandTrack or Twilight Blue but really like the white with grey leather during test drive so I bought it and loved it!

While I still love it, I am tired of dealing with the "rail dust" issue. Brought it to the dealer shortly after purchase and they clay barred the entire car and it looked great. On my last hand wash I noticed it was back and the rear hatch is covered again. I spoke to the service manager who did the initial clay bar and was really surprised to see it back. Now I am waiting for the area rep to come around to have a look at it and decide what the next step is....frustrating....

When I started shopping for my FWD EX I wanted white or bright silver with a black interior. As I visited dealerships choices on colors were pretty limited. I made an arrangement on a low price through the Internet with a dealer a 40 minute ride away from my home. When I got to the lot to look at the FWD EX's he had available the first one he showed me was bright silver. It had a gray interior, but it was the only bright silver he had and there were no white.

So far I'm very happy with the bright silver. The combo of the silver and chrome trim is outstanding. The silver always looks very clean even after 7-10 days without a wash.

BLACK!

Sure I am biased, but if you have the time to spend keeping it clean, it looks amazing.

Oddly enough we went for Techno Orange. Black was out because I have a black car and it is a pain to keep clean. White was a strong contender because it looks good on the car. It is also nearly 500 quid cheaper than orange which was a strong incentive. However, white became very fashionable in the UK three or four years ago and it no longer stands out as much as it did.

I'm just worried that orange is the new white. Ford have added the colour to their range now. No doubt everyone else will follow suit. :(

picked up a mineral grey, was hard to find. In order my prefs were: grey, silver, orange, white.
Love the grey,, some greys i do NOT like as they can seem.. hmm.. industrial or bland. This grey to me is very elegant, has slight blueish hue (i think), metallic/sporty. To me color is VERY important.. dunno why just is. Wouldve been torture had my color choice been "unavailable".

You know what I can't understand.... why is it that when you are buying a new vehicle and you are sitting with the sales person and they ask you to choose any color you want, why is it then later when you are ready to sign on the dotted line you hear: "I'm sorry, the color you chose is not available... we have these options available to you."

If i am buying a new vehicle, I shouldn't have to 'settle' for whats on your lot or on another dealer's lot. They shouldn't you try to sell me what option I CAN get and then later tell me it isn't available.

When I was getting mine I had 2 requests... it had to be black and it had to have the black interior. Sounds simple right? NOPE!!! It was very hard for my dealer to find one that was black with black interior, but they did eventually find one in another state and got it for me :)
(A lot of people have issues with their dealer but I got a great group of people at my Kia dealership)

Just my 2cents worth... If you are buying a NEW vehicle, never just settle for 'what they have' ..... It's their JOB to find that vehicle you want! :)

Sounds like you are a novice at car buying. The first thing you do is go to AutoTrader, go to new cars and put in KIA Sportage, put in your zip code and the miles from your house you are willing to go. I think its 25,50,75,100,200,500 or anywhere in USA. You can also put in the color, model type, AWD. You then hit search and it will bring up all cars available. What I did if I found something I then went to the dealers web site to see if it showed in their inventory and they usually have more pictures of the car on the dealer web site than on AutoTrader. I then call the dealer and ask for their internet salesman. I verify with him the car is still available and make an appointment to test drive it. This way you know they have what you want and if the price is right you will be driving it home.

Hi Neonridr,

Yes, I changed the emblems in the front, back and wheels, the ones I have say "Sportage", got them thru Ebay and really like the well they look.

Here is a pic from behind and from the side...from the side is hard to see, they are black with a red line around them, they match very well with my wheels.

Rgds.
Victor
