Never had that problem, mine works just like most any other car.

 

Are you talking about unlocking with your ignition key? Do you mean its hard to turn the key to unlock position? I would just had one hand on the steering wheel and rotates the wheels a bit from side to side while trying to unlock with the key.

 

I totally agree this takes weight off the locking pin so it will unlock easier. The problem is that sometimes you park with the wheel locked at an angle and this puts load onto the steering lock pin. Either move wheel side to side a bit as you unlock or hold wheel hard over to one side of it's travel and unlock, it should then unlock easily. Experiment and see what works best for you, Happens in most brands of car.
