rvroll / Thanks for the answers. Only one more question and I think the answer is yes.
Can you drive while the update is in progress? I've never opened it but my SD card is in the same place as yours.
Think I'll go ahead and order it. Wish me luck!
Don't know the answer to your question. I've always left the car parked because the system reboots several times. If you do it while you're driving the brick your system, please don't blame me.... I have an extra half and hour in my life so it's not an issue -- especially with this virus thing going around...

I would never blame you buddy. I have all the time in the world but usually don't sit with the vehicle idling for that long.
I know it's not a problem with new vehicles but in the olden days we never did it.

I actually didn't sit in the car. I left the fob in the car parked outside of my garage and did some stuff in the garage while it updated. Even in my mid-70's, I just can't stay still..... (I couldn't stay in the car that long for any event -- my prostate would object!!!!!) In the old days when we had cars, we didn't have all of this efficient electrical stuff and at idle, the generator (not alternator), just couldn't put out enough power for the battery to stay at charge. Today, that's not an issue. The alternator is still charging at 800 rpm....

Just saw the same thing SSportage. If you plug in 2018 the option is available. Either a goof up on the web site or rvoll was just a luck guy...

rvroll / Is the total cost $50 after shipping? I can't afford that much. Don't see an option to download it.

Don't know what to tell you guys. I ordered mine for $30 plus USPS shipping of $10. The installation went fine -- I think. It starts up fine and the navigation is good. Voice recognition is slightly better, but not something to write home about. On the site today, it said it wasn't available for my car and the price went DOWN to $25 plus shipping for the 2018. As far as I know, there is no difference between the 2017 and 2018 technology units. Someone should contact them and ask "What the hell is going on??????" Of course, if my update burps in some way, I'll let you guys know.

Just happened to see this in the trending posts. Over the in the Sorento forum there are a few people (including me) having issues with the update and I think it has been pulled.

The issue is that no maps are displayed at zoom closer than .25mi and the software has no idea where the vehicle is. It is displayed correctly on the map, but the current street isn't displayed and trying to set a destination results in "starting point not found" message.

There is one person that says theirs works fine. But they must have found a problem if the update was pulled. I haven't heard back after I sent them (mapnsoft) photos yesterday about the issue.

Zoom level set to Auto - no map display below .25mi

Can't set a destination.

Map displayed at .25mi zoom, location correct on map but no road displayed at bottom.

My update was NAM.13.41.42.XXX and not NAM.13.41.41.XXX as it said in the update instructions. What is yours? Perhaps that is the difference.

WTH! / Now the website is saying no updates available.
It's available for 2016 and 2018 and they were fine with me.... What did YOU do to them??????!!!!!!!!!

First time commenter!
I just got my used Sorento March 2020. I don't like the UVO voice recognition at all, you are very limited in what words you can say and in what order. I was happy to order the Ver 14 update on SD from MnSoft and move up from Ver 4. The update went just as advertised and now I have Android Auto! Hurrah! I am big Android/Google Assistant fan and am delighted to be able to access all the Google goodness from the driver's seat. So far no problems...

If your following in the other threads I'm now thinking of trading in my 2017 for a 2020. Problem is because of the enablers here my map came today for the 2017.

Anyway, I'm sure the maps in the 2020's on the lot are older than this new one. On the webpage my part # is 142s4_A and the map for 2020 is #142s5_B. 8s it crazy to think I can use this map for the 2020?

Also, what if the SD card we all got is fubar. How would they fix that?

Maps are car specific because these updates not only contain map updates, but system updates as well. You have to give your VIN to get your update, so I would be hesitant to try it on another year. Your maps on the 2020 are probably not that different. You can always ask the dealer to give you the latest maps/system updates with your delivery as part of your sale. I'm sure they would be willing to do that -- but make sure you check because dealers often say they've done something when they haven't. And don't fall for scams such as nitrogen in your tires or security etching, etc. I've installed the latest update and the process went just fine.
