A little late to the party here, but I know my chime drives me crazy, too. We do have seatbelt laws, but when I'm just running across the neighborhood or just being lazy, I'd prefer to not have the car remind me every 27 seconds.
In fact, my manual states that it should stop after apx. 27 minutes... but it doesn't!!! It just keeps going and going and going....
Anyway, I really don't want to completely disable it, so I've somewhat designed (in my mind only at this point) a way to bypass it:
It's easy enough to find the wires to the buckle portion at the floor. From there, use a switch for toggling on/off. Use the kind of relay that holds the circuit closed while energized but releases when you kill the power.
From there, flip the switch to bypass, flip the switch back or turn the key off to reset.
(hmm, going back, I guess you could tap into the wires at the 'musicbox', but that would also kill the door open chime... you know, just in case you forget your door is open
