Fog lights out 11 kia sportage

I went to Midas for an oil change, they told me my fog lamps were out. They wanted $30 each lamp to change out. I bought both lamps for $16. I went to change the lamps and noticed, hey they aren't working.

Changed both light bulbs and the interior under dash 10amp fuse with a new fuse. I have the green indicator lamp on the dash showing they are on but the lights won't turn on. No other lights on the car are out and everything is functioning normally.

What could be the problem? Is this something I can buy at Pep Boys and easily install without taking anything apart?

You might also check the fog light relay. I think it is in the fuse box under the hood. They just unplug. Sometimes the relay contacts will stick or the relay coil will burn out. I suspect the relay is bad since the interior indicator light comes on but not the fogs. Try taking the relay out and bumping it hard. Sometimes it will start working again. If it does you might want to see about getting a new relay.

2008 Kia Sportage EX fog lights

My 2008 Kia Sportage EX did not come with fog lights. Being the EX model it should have. I purchased blue LED lights which I'd like to install, but I'm not sure where to tap into the existing wire harness or fuse box. I see the relay and fuse for the fog lights, but I don't want to cut into the fuse box cover to tap into it. I'd like to wire the LED's so they come on when the key is turned to the AUX/ACC position and off in the off position so that I don't have to worry about leaving them on accidentally. If anyone know where I should tap into the wiring harness or fuse box, or has a wiring schematic for it, I would appreciate it. Thank you...Joe
