It's great to read all the highly positive reviews, as for some of the negative comments I find most of them to be completely ridiculous and in my experience you really need to be careful and not put too much emphasis on these reviews, they often don't know how to evaluate cars in a manner that reflects real-life uses.

For example, the comment about the 0-60 times being 1.4 seconds slower than the competition (I think it was the 4-cylinder version vs. the Equinox) - who cares!! The Sorento is on the large end of the spectrum and who among us expects this to be a race car??!! I don't know about you, but I buy cars that have a proper balance of efficiency and performance, not to take to the race track!

And an even more relevant point: We should not even be comparing the Sorento to the Chevy Equinox, have you guys checked the reliability/quality rankings on that car recently (ex. *********), it is HORRIBLE, and absolute nightmare!! So I'll take a 1 second slower 0-60 time in exchange for a High Quality vehcile like the Sorento and pass on the junky Chevy crossover. In the real world, consumers care about quality and not having to spend a lot of time at the garage getting repairs done, door opening sizes for getting kids in and out, height and usability of cargo area etc....these things affect real life and these are the things we love about our Sorento....

Thanks again to everyone for posting the links to the reviews, they are a good starting point for researching vehicles, then I recommend reading posts from real people on forums such as this, that's where you'll get the real valuable info. for vehicle research.

Here's my review... put out another $4k and buy something else :) of course, after 3 transmission replacements on same car and road to hell and back for past 6 months dealing with lemon law against KIA corp (or dumba** monkeys for lack of any other words) who would give it a positive review? :) Finally picked up our replacement for the lemon last wednesday and on thursday it was back at the dealership getting a window motor replaced hahahaha. Epic fail

How about Consumer Report? Sorento V6 is the most highly rated mid size SUV excluding hybrid and luxury class.:p And the rating should be even higher now that the LX & EX models are fitted with DFD shocks to improve the ride after the review was done.

It is what it is :D after my personal history with Kia i would never give them thumbs up ever again. 2 sorentos, 11 trips to dealerships, 3 transmission replacements, master cylinder, window motor, and all that within 6 months and under 1500miles combined between the both of them

cibersay...
How's it running now? Sounds like you got a fridayPM car... Why the 3 transmissions?
Curious to know.
I owned a 1998 Ford Contour. That model was known to hold the record on recalls.
It was a GREAT car and I only replaced the heater/blower switch...
Sorry about your Sorento...Hope it's running OK...Sometimes it's the so called service department within the dealer that's the real problem.

I also see they replaced the "lemon"...Good for you..Any better luck than the window motor failing?
