Hi,
I have had on going issues with the ignition system of my 2010 Rio. Today I changed the starter and now I have no spark.

In the past I have had rough idle and stalling along with having the ignition wires and coils replaced. The engine turns over but does not spark. I took a spark plug out and while it was connected held it up next to the engine block to see if it sparked and got no spark.

Any ideas?

Lets get this straight...
You replaced the coils and the car still ran at that point...Correct?
The you replaced the starter... Why?? What was the reason ?? I ask this because this would cause a no start condition (no crank)...

Are you the first owner of this car? I ask because of your location close to the Canadian border and the the battery being disconnected during the starter replacement....
Canadian cars have what is called an "immobilizer" antii-theft circuit that "if" the battery is dis-connected it will require steps to allow the car to start again...

Fuses.... They can and do blow sometimes when power is disrupted and then reconnected... A "IGN" fuse blown would cause your no spark condition....
Also cheap after market coil packs may have failed and caused this or other fuses to blow...

This was posted because "we" need to know more about your car and situation to help you...
