Does anyone know what is the wait time these days for 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid SX Prestige if ordered in August 2022? Planning on buying one for my wife for her birthday next month. Any chance I can get it before then?

There are for sure, but those are real reasons and not just conjecture.But there are SO many more reasons than just those....
There is no reason to even discuss wait times, the vehicle will arrive when it arrives and no sooner. Kia does not even know when they are due to arrive.
Not so sure about that, the Kia dealer I bought mine from had at least five HEVs and two PHEVs. This is one dealer and PA is a non emission state 🤷‍♀️
right, I wonder whats that helpline number for. The robo call I receive every other month does a better job in scaring me on why I should call a specific number and check whats going on with my SSN
I dont think Kia even knows when they are going to manufacture the vehicles, but thats the point about the amazing planning of Kia and the amazing vehicle wait era we are living in.

I no joke had 5 diff dealers call me today since tomorro is end of the month and sales quarter trying to get me into an ex or diff trim at msrp. Luckily one dealer had someone cancel a white sx prestige hybrid so we went with that, pick it up next friday

I had a dealer call me yesterday to see if I was still interested in a Hyundai Tucson HEV. I told him I already had a Sportage HEV.
Well after 2 1/2 months of waiting I got very lucky and my salesman called me on Friday and send someone cancel an order on a blue hybrid SX prestige exact same car as I have been waiting for. Since I had a deposit I was given first priority and picked up the car yesterday so far is great. The order I had it with KIA had not even been started yet and that was placed on July 12. Good luck.

So I ordered the white SX Prestige Hybrid on 6/3/22, nothing from the dealer, no VIN, no schedule just a lit of I don't know.
So I pulled the trigger on a white hybrid SX Prestige at another dealer 300 miles away. Dealers will not deal.
So here's what I got:
$38,045 MSRP + $3,000 mark up + $299 admin fee
car is expected 11/7
If my ordered car at my local dealer comes in, I might keep that one too or sell the unicorn. For your info this is just like Ford, I should know because my order for that car went in 1/8 and was delivered 8/26.

yikes! used cars at dealers are stupid expensive. I test drove a Honda CRV hybrid, 2021 model with 24,000 miles on it. I asked how much and they wanted........wait for it .......$40k.
We leased my wifes car in 2020 ordered at the start of the pandemic 2/27/20 and took delivery in August 2020. It is worth way more than the buy back price, crazy.

Dealer called said my car came in to the dealership today, exactly 6 months to the day. I knew this would happen. I’m in Florida until Wednesday so I’m picking it up Thursday.
Salesman told me today that hybrids and phev Sportage prestige are now a 10 to 18 month wait if you order and don’t wanna pay a premium when one come in allotment, and some dealerships are even charging premiums for orders.
so I’ll take mine at MSRP waited 6 months and I have a $500 cash discount from the dealership they’re going to honor, so basically it’s 500 under MSRP. I hope this Kia was worth the wait.

while they're waiting, ask them to check the transmission wiring harness

It’s a recall, I guess, on the a wiring harness shorting out.
What confuses me about this is the text notes it rubs on the shift cable bracket.
HEV’s and PHEV’s use shift by wire not a cable, unless it has some sort of actuator controlled cable 🤷‍♀️

What I heard is that when the harness is routed a certain way, it'll rub on one of the bolts for the transmission, so even shift by wire transmissions would apply
