The car gave me a head ache for the last couple of weeks - some times it turned on problem, some times a had to play with the key 3-4 times. I've been at the dealer ship 3 times, they didn't find anything wrong.
This is what I found - the water dripping on the throttle position sensor and IMHO it should be a recall, because eventually it's going to fail on every car no meter what.

If your the ONLY person with this unique problem, why would this warrant a nationwide recall? I've been with Kia for over 3 years now, NEVER seen this problem. Buy a tube of RTV and seal the hole/leak and put it behind you.

This is not a widespread issue. Never seen it or heard of it before. That generation of Rio was sold from 2005-2011, so there are a lot of them out there. I hope that they were able to fix it for you.

Welcome to the forum.

I don't understand how a faulty TPS would prevent it from cranking - did it crank but not start?

Sounds more like an ignition key / switch problem.
