I was curious about KIA's choice of tires for my Sorento. They are Continental CrossContact LX Sport. I really don't know tires from balloons -- to me they all look good when new, so I went researching. I found several articles, but this one was the most thorough:

I was not very impressed with the OEM tires to say the least....they worked great in the dry and moderate wet, but didn't perform well in the slush & snow. Now, I realize they are All Season and I shouldn't expect them to grip like dedicated snow tires, but they shouldn't walk the road in mild to moderate precipitation, either. I genuinely did not feel comfortable driving on packed snow or any slush (and I've been driving over 30 years now).

I replaced the stockers with a set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus, and those jokers did/have done really well in all conditions......Dry, Wet, & Snow. I will definitely purchase another set.

Just my 2¢ (y)
Your comments are welcome and I looked up your tire. Looks to be a great choice for my next set.

To focus a bit on my MAIN goal - and that is to get a superior, general purpose tire without hurting my gas mileage one iota. I don't need AT tires or snow tires (little snow here in central VA. But I DO want the best tire I can find. Cost is not an issue.
I like the looks of this tire -- Kumho Crugen HP71 -- and the price is very reasonable compared to Michelin.
