I continually have issues upgrading the software. When I get to the point where I'm ask where do I want to save the file, I'm only given a choice of my hard drive, not the thumb drive I have connected to the computer. I don't have enough room on my computer so I can't save it. Has anyone else had this issue?
Thank you
Rosa

Supposedly per Kia, you’ll only get OTA after you do a flash drive update first time
Then you’ll be eligible for OTA after that as long as you have Kia connect premium package after your first year.

Make sure you have enough room on the thumb drive, and that it's formatted to the correct format. Also, make sure it's detected in the computer itself and is functional.

Don't you get updates via OTA? Mine updates automatically and lets me know it's finished
This depends on how long you've had the vehicle or if you're subscribed to the Ultimate level. OTA is only available on the highest level of Kia Connect

OK. I thought it was all 23 Sportages.

Quick question for people that did the recent update, on your Kia connect screen, did you lose the ability to check the box for 911.
Per Kia connect they told me they took that feature away that it’s automatically active now no option to decide if you want it active. It’s automatically active.
The first picture is after the update, the second picture is prior to the update

You need to ensure your USB is exFAT formated (you can even do this with your personal computer if it doesn't arrive in this format) and the size should be 64GB. You can find a cheap one off Amazon (Kingston DataTraveler Exodia 64GB USB 3.2 Flash Drive DTX/64GB : Amazon.ca: Office Products).

When you run Navigation Updater software as Kia instructs on your computer, you should then be able to select the USB to download and install the files to. Next, start your vehicle (and leave it on!), plug in the USB, go to Vehicle Settings on the infotainment system, then System Info and you will see an option to update from USB. Once the update completes and goes to restart (you'll see the screen shows complete and then the screen briefly turns off), remove the USB after the display has turned off and wait for it to complete its start up.

Good luck!

After numerous attempts, my software updated on its own, a couple of weeks ago. Not sure how the cars are chosen for updates, but it was done OTA. I honestly had given up on doing it via a USB drive and then one day, I received a message on my screen.
Thanks to everyone who responded and tried to help me.
