No, i think it needs some clear audio/video recording and YouTube. I can already see couple of reddit posts on it. And as i drive the car more, the more i am concerned because sometimes it can be really loud/shaky on those bumps.
Mine still sounds the same, odd thing is under certain conditions I can hear it occasionally from the left side as well. Since it seems the noise travels (but obviously more pronounced on the right) it could be something with the stabilizer bar and end links, possibly even the sub-frame mounts. Frustrating asf.

Well, you seem way more qualified than me in this subject. I can't differentiate between those parts, on another note, I can be annoying which also helps lol

I’m not a mechanic by any means, just did a lot of online research of parts that could go wrong, and past experience with previous cars that became money-pits over time lol😁 Also spent a lot of time under the car (thanks to its generous ground clearance) looking for anything out of the ordinary and how things work under there.
FYI, the subframe is the large metal assembly that’s mounted to the floor of the car. The wheel control arms are connected to this on both sides. The stabilizer (or sway) bar is a long rod mounted to the back of the subframe with rubber bushings. At each end of the stabilizer bar is a short link that attaches it to the lower wheel control arm. My current theory is that if the sound occurs on both sides even occasionally, this assembly might have something to do with it.

We are having the same problem with our new 2025 Sorento. Dealership replaced 2 shocks the first time and the second time they did a brake service. Neither made any difference. The sales guy originally said the sound was overinflated tires which makes no sense. I'm going to take it to another Kia dealership for an inspection and I'll open a case with Kia.

I have a 2025 same noise right from day one, already had it back at the dealer and the heard nothing, am screen shot g these post to show it’s a wide ranging problem from the southern US to Kanata Ontario Canada, will keep you posted
I'm in Ottawa too and have the exact same issue

That’s the same exact thing they told me about the tires when I first acquired the car. They claim the manufacturer delivers it that way and mine “apparently wasn’t inspected upon delivery” lol BS. They replaced the shock on that side but no change.
When you open a case with customer service, make sure the dealership sends service info to Kia, they rely on info from the service center to issue recalls or service bulletins, Otherwise Kia Customer Service is pretty much useless.

Took mine to the dealer yesterday for my appt. I told them everything that I did (listed in my first post) that I thought might be the culprit with no luck. Tech drove it, returned, and said he didn’t hear anything. I told him to hop in the passenger’s side and off we went. I hit a nice small bump and he heard it. I told him about this forum and that others are experiencing the same issue, so it’s not limited to my vehicle. He said we’ll start with a new shock and mount. I said to him that if the manufacturer is making a faulty part, then the replacement will probably make the same noise. He advised me that the manufacture updates the parts, so fingers crossed. Vehicle also had a leaking axel seal on the opp. side of the noise, so they’ll do both when the parts come in next week. Not sure if this will solve it, but the tech seems to think that the shock is compressing incorrectly. I’m skeptical, but we both agreed that it’s a starting point. I’ll update after the service.

When they took my shock off, tech claimed it was defective, “he could hear fluid, shock was blown”, etc. Put the new shock on, noise is the same, but not better or worse. Good luck, hope yours is a simple fix.

I had the same thing "shock was blown and there was fluid". Didn't fix my problem either

I was surprised they did a “brake service” on a new car, beginning to think these technicians are clueless. Well, this sorta rules out Kia is supplying defective parts with all the shocks being replaced, and the noise is still the same. Good luck to you and keep us informed, gonna tell my service dept about all these concerns in this thread.

I expect that this will NOT solve the issue, but it’s at least a starting point to begin the process of elimination. They/Kia can’t deny that something somewhere on/in that vehicle is the causal factor for that noise. I’ll let them keep chasing it until it’s resolved.

Same here, I’m on a first-name basis with about 7 employees there now. I’m retired so I have time to hang around their shop, but I want this resolved asap as I have a couple of road trips coming up and not sure if there’s a safety issue. Round 4 coming up.

Brake service on a 2025 model. What did this "technician" been drinking? To be this clueless is hard to surpass.o_O
I'm not going to say I have lost faith in humanity, but I do have to admit that some of my fellow humans are trying very hard to get me to that point.
Brake service... you can't make this up.

If fhe don't fix it during my next visit, then I'll look for a third party
Update: Had some time today and went to another dealership for first time. They sent the guy with me for the test drive, sound reproduced under a minute, he said will investigate. Took some long time, said everything looked normal underneath, and put some sound sensors and headphones and asked me for another ride. Reproduced the sound got it back, said will look further. Said tightened some stuff underneath and removed the spare, nothing helped. Asked me for another drive but he drives and I sit on passenger side .... Now first time for me to sit there, I hear it in the left rear !! .. He was yeah now I hear it more to the right so its likely in the center ... Anyways, he said nothing that rocking or unsafe, and that they will keep an eye with the new cars coming in service. However, he gave me a quick look underneath and I was surprised how loud are those sound dampners/insulation panels under the car, I had an impression that these might do with it, but he couldnt confirm if this was special for 2024/2025 and xline in general. This took 3 hours and they didnt charge me for it, and logged everything in the report. So I take this as honest service. Time will tell, but in summary:
  • Sound is not necessarily in the rear right part
  • Not the spare
  • Not the tires/rims
  • Also he says all suspension components are rock solid with no play.
Hope this helps, will try to forget about until service is due.

WOW! IMPRESSIVE!
Impressive yet disappointing 😞.
I was hoping such thorough diagnosis could find a solution to our issue... I don't see myself growing the tolerance to deal with it for the life of the lease, nor do I see myself leasing another Kia.
What's really frustrating is when I look at such beautiful car and don't understand how Kia can let this happen. Anyway, they get away with it because most people are not willing to put in the time and effort to effectively boycott them.
What a way to ruin one's experience...

Thanks for the update, I’m probably going to let them drive my car as well and pretty sure I’ll get the same response. As I said before sometimes once in a great while I’ll hear it behind me on the left. Based on your info sounds like a design error involving insulators somewhere. I’ll make sure when I go there again they report this to Kia as well, as this is not over yet.

Joining to hope to see a solution.
2021 x-line. Same symptoms.
Rattle started aound 48k miles.
Sounds like rear passenger side.
Small bumps at speeds 5-35mph create the most pronounced rattle.
Spoiler is on solid.
Spare is on sold.
Greased rear hatch connections. No help.
Nothing feels loose or looks worn underneath.
Bouncing my weight on the rear hitch doesn't seem to repeat Rattle. Nor does rocking the car from the side. But I'm outside then so it's possible noise is heard inside.
Suspension was assessed as in good shape when I got new tires, though that was a couple thousand miles prior to the rattle developing.
The sound drives me crazy.
Havent had time to mess with tbe dealer yet.

Welcome. Since your vehicle is about 4 yrs old, I would suspect that maybe your right shock is going, have service check that first. Keep us informed if they eliminate the noise, any solutions or info would be helpful to us. Thanks!

My is 2022 EX hybrid and do exactly the same think at 36k mil now I have almost 40k-300mil and after tire rotation is less noise. When I put full tank of gas noise almost disappears.

try this, with fuel tank around 1/2 full, put three 80 lb bags of cement, sand, whatever, in the back and drive it....see if it still makes the sound.....someone said it does it less when fuel tank full, is tank loose? could something in the fuel tank be making the noise?.............
