07 Kia Rio Purge valve not working and what is the senor on the top of the air intake

Changed out the purge valve and it does not open when turning the key to start pos
The valve is closed

I get like 3.5 volts at the purge valve sensor hook up when using battery as ground.

Also what is the sensor at the top of the air intake on to the right near where the main air hose hooks up?
Mine is cracked and making a buzzing noise before starting motor.

Thanks

When to the shop and they said the Ebay $12 valve was bad. Started up fine after changing the valve from Advanced auto and putting in about 6 gals of gas. The main sign of a bad purge valve is having to hold your foot on the gas after getting gas for 1 to 3 mins. Should have returned the Ebay valve back in July. I have bought others in the past and they lasted two or three years.
The odd part in I could not blow any air past the valve so I thought it was fine.

Cleared code P0446 and getting it inspected next week.

Diagnostic test done by shop.
Ran the car for about 4 days and at least 30 miles.
Passed inspection.

Thanks

Before condemning the valve or replacing it, you should run a diagnostic test to ensure it is working correctly or failing..
The purge valve is part of the EVAP system.

I do not understand what other "thing" you have that is cracked and buzzing..
Picture attached of "thing" with blue paint on it.
