Updated numbers for Sportage PHEV Prestige ONLY. This is not "official" numbers, just my observations by searching internet. This is based on found window stickers that were found, not dealer websites. General consensus is that these stickers are generated when a vehicle is in port. I'll try to update data at end of week.

Data updated Feb 5th (corrected)
(LATEST CHART AT END OF THREAD)

FYI - For those who have seen this before, please note I reversed the dates (new is now on top)

These stats are when the window sticker is generated. It is very possible that the window sticker was generated in December when it arrived in Port, but not delivered to your dealer until January. Holidays and shortages of transport. Disclaimer: I know nothing for sure, I'm just guessing.

In my experience (it was stuck for a while, but not in the same port) each week the ETA was simply pushed out 1 more week. I sure didn't trust the estimates after they pushed it out 3 or 4 times, until eventually it just showed up one day (before that latest estimate).

Its hard to wait... but really not much more you can do.

I checked on my incoming car. The window sticker was dated 1/24 and original ETA was 2/19. Now the dealer says it is showing "AT SEA" and ETA of 2/26. Kind of tosses out the idea that window stickers are created at import port.

What information should the dealer have to give me about the car's status? Should they be able to tell me if it's at sea, at the port, or away from port and now in transit?

They've only told me the ETA was 2/12. Then last week it changed to 2/19. Is there any way to tell where it should be in the process based on the close proximity and change of these dates? (my window sticker was dated 1/30)

Yes, stands to reason. From my posting in another thread:

I believe that's probably about right. Although it can vary depending on where in the US the final destination is. If close to a port where the ship unloads, it can be quicker, but slower if have to be transported by train inland. When I tracked this all for a Tucson PHEV we bought last spring, it seemed that the window sticker wasn't generated until the vehicles were on a ship and probably getting close to being off-loaded at a port. I believe they must be deciding what options are to be installed on what vehicles at the port before they finalize the sticker. The VIN # however, gets released while the vehicle is still in Korea, I believe during/after the production process. Nothing definite here, and I don't have any ties to Kia/Hyundai, but that seemed to be the process based on everything I read on the blogs at the time.
The good news is that from my past experience anyway, you should be getting close to delivery! When the window sticker becomes available, you should be within a “reasonable” 1-2 month wait max.

Nope. A quick Google search shows that the Niro‘s ICE isn’t turbocharged and it has a dual-clutch auto tranny. So a lot less power and torque from engine, but a bit better “performance” from tranny. And of course, only comes in FWD.

Hyundai Santa Fe & Tucson and Kia Sorento & Sportage, all have same drivetrains.
