Hi Pete,
If it were as simple as a relay.... the door lock are controled by the 'body control module' or BCM which is integrated in the fuse panel under the dash next to the steering wheel. What is your issue, is it one door or all? the usual issue seems to be whith the acctuators others have issues with the remotes not working.
On a 12yr. old vehicle, that condition is more indicative to a latch assembly wearing out. There is a contact switch incorporated into the door latch unit that controls that function. Usually found on the most used door of the vehicle.
And Sempre Fi...But why did you choose NYC to continue doing such great service?...from an old "air dale" Marine from the other end of the State of NY!
A-4 Skyhawks FOREVER!
I was an 0311 grunt in Vietnam. I was in uniform walking through a train station where they had an NYPD recruiting stand set up. They called me over and signed me up. There was a hiring freeze for several years before I finally got called to the Police academy. I spent most of my time on patrol in Brooklyn before a car accident forced me to retire early.
Well I couldn't go in any sooner, 77-81, 6022 jet engine tech. Where was "home" before the Corps, NYC area? NO slight meant as to being NYPD(or any PD), Just a total dislike of things happening over there from a Buffalo outlook.
