I have a 2002 Kia Spectra 5 with a direct fit Rear Cat Converter. I have been looking online, but I can not find one for California use. Can anyone point me in any direction on finding one. Thanks

If that's the case it usually means it is only available at the dealer. The reason for that is emissions warranties are longer then the regular vehicle warranty. I would check the dealership and see if that is the case, because aftermarket suppliers will not make an item for retail if it is still a warranty part.

And you are absolutely right, dealerships will rip you off in a heartbeat should they be given the opportunity.

Good news and bad news....your car is over 100,000 miles, which means the downside is the warranty that the federal government has on your emissions system is defunct and useless. But good news, you can usually just find a catalytic converter online for cheap, get the old one cut, and have the new one welded in by a shop for fairly cheap. Shops out here are cheap, and a weld job for a catalytic is only 50 bucks, but since I don't live in cali, I wouldn't know the prices out there. Good luck with it though
