Hiding wireless CarPlay dongle

I need some help mounting or hiding the wireless CarPlay. Suggestions welcome, but I'd rather not just mount it in box as it takes up space. Does anyone have/seen steps to take apart this box, maybe I can put a hole in upper corner for running wire and mount CarPlay behind dash. Seems all the seams are too tight to push wires into.

I found a post talking about this, but it only covered mounting it in the box; not running wires out of the box. I'm looking for a diagram to take this apart so I can hide the CarPlay completely. I don't want to mount in box. If you know of a different post than the one I'm talking about, please give me a link to it.

I was thinking about doing that; I've seen separate discussion on the gear selector panel. I saw some blow-up diagrams that the usb box is totally separate. I'm wondering how to get behind that usb box. Do you have any guides on accessing the USB wiring?

I was able to put the wireless CarPlay box under the console. I popped off the gearshift console (pull straight up ... hard), it's just connected by clips. Once it's off you can see the screws for the wireless charger compartment, take those 2 screws out and the tray comes out easily. I cut a hole near the top of the tray (enough to fit usb cable through) and used some right angle usb plugs. I used double sticky tape to mount the adapter under the compartment (so it doesn't move around).

Here is a pic (still need to clean up the mess)
