Hi,
I'll try to explain my situation as simple as I can.
Car Detail:
KNADM4A3XD6263070
ECU (Original from my car):
Situation:
Couples of weeks ago, all our keys got lost.
This is an example of what our keys look like.
I found and old key in our closet she was broken and we only have the metal part of the key. (No transponde chip).
So now the car won't start because of IMMO system.
-------------------------------------------------
We found someone to program new key (I don't have any tool to do it myself). when he came he was not able to communicate with the ecu and was not able to add new key.
I know the previous owner play with some wires and maybe he made a mistake (Maybe a Short to Ground?) anyway...
So we found another guy and I ask him to do an IMMO OFF same thing was not able to talk with ecu from obd2 port.
They said to me he can try to fix this by pulling out the ecu from the car and try an on table diagnotic + IMMO OFF
Now he said that the ecu was not working bla bla bla.
he try to get more and more money from me. he is a scammer.
----------------------------------------------------------
Question:
- I see on ebay many ECU for my car model and year all of these have a good price. But if I check for the exact same model the price is very high. I see on Kia part that more than one model is compatible with my car and I don't understand why my model is so expansive.
- What should I check, What is important and how I know if the ECU is compatible with my car? Do I need to get the exact same model.
- Do I need the old ECU to reprogram a new one that I purchase on ebay.
Now I found my key but I don't trust this guy and I prefer to buy an ECU even if it cost to me much more than pay him to get my ECU back. Hope I was not forced to give him a penny.
- If I got my ECU back, do you know if he can make something to the ecu like reprogram something to do some trouble to my car if I reinstall it.
I see a lot of gadget and tools for ecu programming and key programming
- Can you tell me wath I need the very basic and cheapest stuff like obd to usb wire to diagnose and programme the ecu with a laptop. (on car way and on table ways)
