Dome Light

Hi Guys

My wife has a 98 Sportage. Sometimes when she opens the doors the dome light comes on and the next time it won't. The switch up by the dome light is on for the dome lights to come on with the doors. Has anyone had the issue before?

Greetings,

The rubber plunger door switches on the Sportys are probably sticking - time, repeated cycles, and water/dust take their toll on them.

Next time it happens, locate the rubber plunger switch on the outer door jamb / frame, below the door strike plate and give it a wiggle: if the dome light comes on, the switch is the issue.
