I am planning to use CRC gdi intake valve cleaner. I did search on this site as well on google but could not find specific instructions, specifically the video, however, I did find these two videos and in both the videos, it looks like they have the same engine as mine but still not sure which way to go.

1st video

2nd video

In the first video, the person is spraying inside the hose and in the second video, a person is spraying inside the PVC??? Tube , which one is the proper method of using CRC cleaner, or is there any other proper way to go about this?

Not familiar with the I4 engine but even if that is the PVC tube, the valve itself would not be in the intake runner, would be in the valve cover of the engine. That could be where the byproducts get sucked back into the intake track but suspect if you remove that hose, that the fitting on the intake runner is just a fitting and you could easily pass something through it (I like zip ties for checking pathways).

Personally, I'd want to try and get a bit closer to the actual throttle body opening. There isn't that much vacuum created in the runner at 2K rpms and suspect a lot of the cleaner is going to adhere to the sides of the track rather than making it direct to the intake system. The V6 has several more hoses attached to the runner before making its way to the actual TB but may the I4 doesn't.
