The infinity website may tell you. If not you can go online or any audio store and they can look it up for you. I do know the rear speakers are an oddball size and may require some applied physics to mount them.

In answer to your question about adding a new system to your 2006 Kia Spectra 5, I'll answer your questions in the order they were asked:



1. The side panel locations are the side panels in the rear cargo area. The front door locations are the "woofer" locations in your factory component setup. Currently, we don't filter tweeter locations and fit information in our "Outfit My Car" application. The reason for this is that aftermarket tweeters are rarely an easy "drop-in" replacement for factory tweeters, and you generally need to make a bracket or support the new tweeter. They rarely fit directly in the vehicle's factory location. Here's the available information I can provide on your tweeter locations: 1.375" in magnet diameter, 0.644" in tweeter protrusion.

2. The problem in replacing the rear speakers isn't really the access to the factory speakers. It's the fact that the location is so restrictive that not many of our speakers fit this location.

3. This includes a lack of choices for Infinity speakers. I wish I had better news there.

4. A separate woofer and tweeter and a crossover are what makes up a component speaker system. They're generally used for the front soundstage in a vehicle, and they really aren't needed for the rear location, as it's simply for rear sound fill. So, you could use a woofer in the rear location for bass, if we had one that fit. However, I'd recommend a full-range speaker. A full-range speaker is one speaker with highs, mids, and lows all incorporated into one speaker assembly, unlike a component speaker.



As stated, you don't have much to choose from because of the Kia. However, I can recommend a match for speakers with these Kenwoods for the front and rear respectively:

 

I put Pioneers in the front and an amp and sub in the back and it sounds awesome! No need to replace the rear speakers.

 

I'm running the stock door speakers till I get back and can install some JL's up there. I have a MTX 5500 series 10 in the Road Thunder box in back running on an MTX 300 watt amp. I replaced the rears with MTX 2-ways running on the deck. The fronts are also running on the deck. I'm eventually going to install the front components and hook the fronts and rears on another amp. I'm thinking out doing a custom install for the fronts and use MTX up there too. The only reason I chose the JL's is that they are a direct fit. There are some MB Quartz that fit up there directly as well. You can check to see what speakers fit on the Crutchfield site then just search for what you want elsewhere if you don't want what they have there.

As far as getting to the rear speakers, you have to take the plastic top covers off of each side. To get them off you have to get the rear seat sides off by pushing them up. They just pop off. Then you can get to the bolts that hold them on that are facing the front of the car. Under that the brackets that hold the speakers in are held down by bolts. Once you get them off you have to unscrew the speakers from the bracket and then you might have to drill holes to match the speakers you use to replace them with depending on the brand of speaker. You have to pull the side felt off the sides in the back to get at the bracket that holds the speaker down. There's a really big bold that holds that thing in there too.

 

When you say "the rear seat sides" are you talking about the entire wheel well enclosures behind the rear seat. Do I flip the rear seats forward and just lift the whole enclosure? Or are you talking about just the speaker grills?

 

If you fold the rear seats forward, then you can take the pad on the wheelwell off. There is a bolt at the bottom, then the top slides off, and then you can you can acess the two bolts that hold the speaker grille on. It is easier than just pushing the pad aside. You can also run some power wires down the wheel well if you plan to power up anything in the rear.

 

That's what I meant by rear seat sides. The parts of the rear seats that are still vertical when you fold the rear seats down. Once you fold them down there is a strip that covers the gap between the seats and the body. Take that off (it's velcro'd) and then you can access the seat belt attachments that you can use to ground your amp with the large bolts in the floor. To get the side wheel wells area you have to take the plastic that is located on the lower center of the rear hatch area off. It is attached with bolts on the sides. Once you take that off and take out the floor you can get the felt off the sides and get to everything. I might be missing something since it's been a while since I did this but that's about it I think. Hope this helps you out.

well i am gonna try to install the component speakers tomarrow but idk how to hook up the crossover and run wires and stuff...i've heard 2 different methods of doing it. one was to run a wire through the door directly to the deck and stuff and another was to hook up the crossover to the woofer wires, which come from the deck and split out to the woofer and tweeter?? i think, and to run the wires from the crossover to the tweeter and woofer...

does any1 know what i should do for the crossover set up?? and does any1 know if the woofer and tweeter wires are like connected and come from one wire? if that makes any sense.

The magnets on the Infinity speakers may be to thick to mount in your doors. I almost bought a set and was told they would not fit. I went with Pioneer and am happy.

Some sort of wiring instructions should have come with your speakers. You should mount the crossover inside the door somewhere. You should be wiring the main wire that comes from the deck to the crossover and then there should be a set of wires to the tweeter and one to the woofer. It's going to be a pain to get the wires to run just like stock but when it comes to installs that's the cleanest way to do it. The clearance inside the doors is pretty close. I think it's something like 1/16th of an inch.

 

Stereo Replacement

Hi guys, nice to be part of this community. Like you guys i just bought me a KIA car, i got me a Cerato Hatchback 2008. The first time i saw the car, i really fell in love with it, just like my girlfriend. I love the Hatchback because its roomy and the design is just amazing. I've done some modification on the interior lightings, like the door lights i've replaced them with Blue LED's. they look great.

I just like to ask for your help guys, anyone? Im planning to replace my Stereo with Pioneer with built in feature for sub woofers, but i don't seem to know how to remove the front panel? where the screws are?
