automatic transmission no drive

I have just redone the on a Rio 2005 G4EE.
NOW the torque converter not locking .
So I have no drive.
When the engine was removed. The transmission stayed in place and only blade connecting crank to torque converter. Loosened in order to remove engine.
I have enough ATF in the box.
No matter how many times I turn the converter it does not lock up.
Maybe someone has this experience from a previous time.

I was a automatic transmission design engineer and master mechanic most of my career until I crossed over to the dark side of engine design.......I have no idea what you're trying to describe. Please try again and perhaps we can help you.....Thanks! Perhaps photos?
