WeatherTech Cargo Liner for Kia Sedona Black 40645 | eBay

needs to verify on Weather Tech.

 

I looked at what Weather Tech had for the Sedona and it appears to only fit inside the deep well when the 3rd row is up. I think they may have one that is larger and can be cut to size but I'm not sure. I sent them and email and have not heard back yet. Amazon sells quite a few at a reasonable cost so I may just get one of those. Thanks

 

Cargo mat

Here is what I'm going to do. Make a template out of cardboard or heavy paper. Go to a store where you can get a carpet remnant of your choice bound and you'll be good to go. If you're worried about it tearing up the car's carpet (depends on the type of carpet you choose), get some carpet felt and fasten it under the carpet. Very inexpensive and you can make it any color and size you want. The last Lloyd cargo mat I bought was $125.00 and while nice, was way overpriced.

I like the Kia mat that is available in matching carpet color. Fits nicely over third row seats folded down.

 

I did the same exact thing as you as far as built a homemade bike rack for 2 bikes. Works great by the way and I got this mat off Amazon and it has worked well too:

Kia Cargo Area Mat

Reviving to ask a related question...

Has anyone purchased the Kia OEM cargo mat, for when the third row is folded down? It appears to both cover the gaps left when the seats are down, and it looks to level the cargo area. I know I've seen multiple comments of people frustrated that the cargo floor is not totally flat when the third row is down, like every other van. The seats sit maybe 2" above the rest of the floor when folded, and there are large gaps left for dirt and small items to fall down into.

My question, does this mat level the cargo area, or is this just an illusion of Kia's picture? Does it have a thicker section forward of the third row to accomplish this? Or does it bridge the height difference, flat over the seats and provides a ramp down to the floor height just behind the second row?

I'd love to see a picture of this mat other than the Kia Corporate pictures, but I cannot seem to find one online.

Here's my solution. Working great so far.

 

I traded my 2013 Sienna in for the Sedona and the WeatherTech mat I had is still really usable. An exact fit? No....But darn close. Then this weekend, I found these rubber-backed, carpeted utility mats at Lowe's. They are 3'X4'. I bought 2 and they generously fill the back on my van area where my 2 huge dogs ride. Regularly, $12.98. On sale for $3.24.

The space would be fine using either option....I just tried these mats because the weathertech liner is a bit slippery for the dogs.

 

I bought a large industrial floor mat at Cosco that covers the rear cargo area (3rd row folded) from front to back and just a bit shy of side to side. Worked really well on a recent vacation road trip. The heavy carpet texture kept stuff from sliding around, and doesn't bunch up like thinner mats tend to do.

I'm not a big fan of molded plastic cargo liners. I have a Hyundai OEM one in my Genesis trunk, and the semi-slick surface just lets light loads slide around while driving.

I did a custom solution for the entire rear area of the van. I have two dogs that ride around with us a lot. First I removed the passenger side second row seat. I completely removed the rails as well. Just filled them in with 2x2 lumber and some carpet padding. Then I bought an 8x10 rug from Ikea and cut it to fit. The rug cost about $80. If the pics come through you can see where I cut out a square of carpet behind the remaining second row seat so that I can use the seat as needed. I took both pieces of carpet to a local shop that does rug binding and had a nice edge put all the way around. This cost about $40. I used velcro to attach the square of carpet to the larger piece. The final step was to lay down carpet padding under the rug to even out the surface. All in, it turned out pretty good. The one problem I'm having is that when the dogs move around, the whole rug tends to move forward. I'll need to secure it in some way.
