Any changes to 2007 Sportage?

After months of research and test driving I'm nearly ready to pull the trigger and buy a new Sportage. However, now that we're halfway through the year I'm wondering if holding out for the 2007's would be smart.

Does anyone know if any changes are in store for the 2007 (even if very minor)?

Thank! :)

Here's what they say

I received my October 2006 issue of Car And Driver. According to this issue, there are no major changes to the 2007 Kia Sportage. I don't think even any cosmetic changes apply because even the slight noselift of the Sorento was mentioned, and there was nothing mentioned on the Sportage. You can also see an updated synopsis of the new '07 Sportage here:

Yes I think lets keep it that way for a awhile. At least my 2005 Sportage will not look that old...By the way I read in another thread that the blue colour is getting popular..right now silver is the top colour...my Sportage is blue...the 2nd last sold in my state. No new shipment of Sportage from Korea to my country I think since early 2006. A 2007 model if were to come in will surely carry a new price tag and may be in other engine version e.g. diesel or V6.

We just bought a new 2007 Sportage EX. I take delivery tonight or tomorrow morning. Before I bought it, I asked if they had an interference type engine like my 2003 Sorento. One of the mechanics came out of the shop to the show room and told me that they did indeed have an interference engine like the Sorento, but that they now had a timing chain instead of a timing belt. I realize that sometimes they will say anything to get a sale, but they seemed to be sincere. If anybody knows for sure whether this is true or not, let us know. If true, I think that this is a significant change for 2007. Also, if it is true, lets hope that this change is well engineered. It won't stop the valves from hitting the pistons if it gets out of time, but for peoople like me who are sometimes slow to get in for important maintenance, it will give me more time.
