well, I would go to dealer. It is hard to say.... it might be some problem with the airbag itself.

you can try do one thing though. Disconnect the battery for at least 10 minutes.
This works with most if not all errors in the computer. It should reset it, but airbag might be different.

For sure it will not harm

hi, have been a general motors owner most of my adult life. you can reset some codes by disconnecting battery. in the case of airbag, the cp does a airbag selfcheck as soon as you start the car. the airbag light will flash, then stay illuminated if you have something wrong with your airbag system. the kia repairmen said disconnecting battery would set airbag code. in other words, if your airbag light was not illuminated and you disconnected your battery, it would cause your airbag light to stay on. if there are any kia repairmen on this forum that dispute this, i would like to hear from them.

floormats?

I purchased new front floor mats for my used 2005 Sorento. I pulled the old ones out and layed down the new ones then noticed the airbag light stayed on. I put the old ones back in (there is a metal eyelet on the back end of the mat that goes over rubber pegs) and the airbag light is now out. Did Kia design a sensor in the front floor?
