Hi,

I purchased a 2021 Sportage last fall and it has a strange issue when using the bluetooth for phone calls. Sometimes - not always - there a loud banging noise for the person on the other side of the phone call. My partner has a 2021 Telluride with the exact same issue.

Has anyone else experienced this? It definitely seems like a problem with the bluetooth equipment. We have contacted Kia about this and they say they have never heard of the issue?

I sometimes get a loud pop or snap sound in my BT headphones, but never my vehicle. Nor has anyone heard anything on their end. It might be your phone's BT signal and not the car.

The first basic troubleshooting step is to delete the pairing and reconnect to your device.

I've not experienced this, but could it be a loose microphone or a loose part near the mic???? Does it occur when you are standing still?

I purchased a 2020 Kia Sportage brand new from a dealer in February 2020, and have been told by people I'm talking to through my car using the Bluetooth feature that there's an awful banging noise on their end. I hear them clearly throughmy speakers. I'm told there's no difference if I turn the air/blower off. I'm told it gets better when I'm stopped idling like at a stop light, but it's still noticeable. I'm at a loss since I don't hear it myself.

I have the EX with moon roof and tech package.

Noises like that over the connection that aren't heard at both ends implies a signal issue with the BT. If they say it changes intensity or in frequency with teh operation of the vehicle then it definitely sounds like an interference problem.
