I took my car in to the dealer for its first service today at 7000 miles - I purchased the service contract when I bought my car. I asked for the tires to be rotated and was told that they only rotate every other oil change now. Told me they measured my tires and that the best ones were on the front and they should be. I'm an older woman a little ignorant about these things, but doesn't that mean that my back tires will be more worn when they rotate them at the next oil change and they'll be on the front then? Also, I just looked at the manual and it recommends tire rotation at 6500 miles........ Any advice? Is the dealer just trying to not do too much work? Thank you in advance.

I would request they do a full tire rotation at every oil change. Most tire manufactures say to rotate tires every 7K miles to maintain their tire treadwear warranty.

On all my cars, I have all tires rotated and a 4-wheel alignment done (both are free) every 6-7K miles for just this reason.

Thank you for the info. I hate to say this, but I think they were really busy and just didn't want to do it. I'm starting to wonder why I let them talk me into buying that service contract when I purchased the car. I knew their service department was not good, but they assured me (of course) that they had restructured everything......... And I believed them.......
