Kia recalls more than 30,000 sedans

SEOUL - Kia Motors Corp, South Korea's second-largest automaker, is recalling 30,593 Carnival II sedans because of a defect in the vehicle's power seats, the Transportation Ministry said Monday.

The recall applies to Carnival II cars produced between January 3, 2001 and November 30, 2003, the Ministry of Construction and Transportation said in a statement.

The flaw in the power seats could cause a fire as their circuits can be damaged if they are brushed against the seat frame for a long time, the ministry said.

Owners of the cars were advised to bring them in for repair of the flaw from Tuesday.

hmmmm...... I just mentioned a mysterious recall on my SE model in my rusty tailgate post.
Thats why they were so cagey about it.....:whistling:
