Hello,
I bought this car for a cheap deal with the dreaded timing belt break. I have replaced the pistons, complete head rebuild with new valves and valve seats, new timing belt and water pump. The problem is, I now have a p0340 code that won't clear. I have double checked the cam timing and all of the plugs but am unsure if I have the cam position sensor plugged into the right place. If anyone could tell me the wire colors of the plugs that the sensor should be plugged into I would greatly appreciate it. BTW 2002 Rio.

Anthony, from my 02 rio book. Pin 1 red/yellow stripe. Pin 2 red/Black stripe. Pin 3 yellow no stripe. One other thing to check is the target on the cam shaft that picks up the sensor it could be loose or missing give it a check also.http://www.kiatechinfo.com/ for free service materials. Hope this helps. Reguard's Ronjohn
