Well, I was detailing the 2013 Rio5 EX and found the chrome was delaminating off around the upper black plastic grill.

I thought: "Well, its under warranty!" until I saw the deep gouge from a big rock started it all.

So is there a good place other than a stealer for the grille? I'm almost thinking the total black of the LX would keep this from happening again. And may not look bad on a white car.

Opinions and internet places to get it? Thanks. I'm in the USA.

Eh, not a bad idea. I might be able to clean up the gouge enough to look good.

But how do you take off the chrome plating off plastic without hurting the plastic?

Sometimes you will find members on here looking to do a grille swap from chrome to matte and likewise but the hard thing is taking it off.

I know some of us had to deal with it from badge swaps but you might be able to just purchase another one if you cant fix it yourself. Cost of shipping for a trade or out of town buy might not be worth it.

Taping it off or taking it off for a paint job would be a good bet too.
