Where is PCV valve on 2004 Kia Optima 2.4L? No Haynes book published :(

Jimf, if you will look at the top of the forum page, there is a click for the repair manuals. After you click there, look to the left and you will see factory manuals for your Optima. :)

After you remove the cover written "16-Valve DOHC", there is a 4"-6" black rubber hose. It runs an S-loop at the top centre from engine crankcase (black color to the engine air manifold (silver color). The end of the hose nearer to you is probably where the Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve is located.

I was about to post my findings here for future reference. You are correct, the PCV valve is located at the end of the black S-shaped hose. It is (facing the back of the car) about 6 inches to the right of the oil filler cap on top of the engine under the cover labled "16 valve DOHC". Pair of pliers for hose detachment and a 14mm wrench worked wonders. 15 minute job tops!
