Need to put down some anchor hooks for my new eBay All-Weather mats.
Will I be fine if I just blindly stab them through and screw the anchor through the carpet?

Anyone do this before?

Thanks!

Should be just the carpet, I doubt it will be able to go through the floor.

In theory there shouldn't be any wiring under that area of the carpet, no power seats. However, if you noticed any "custom work" when you bought your sportage, you might want to see if you can feel anything thru the carpet just to be safe.

BTW, got a link to the kind of mats you bought?

These guys:
Car Truck Van SUV Rubber Floor Mats Semi Customs for Front Rear 3pcs A w Black | eBay

Very nice, very easy to trim to fit, only one I had an issue with is the driver side mat, the foot rest where a clutch pedal would be got in the way, some scissors, and all is well.

Got the hooks from WeatherTech, going to drill a hole with a grommet in the mat, and put the hooks down so it has something to anchor.
Tends to slide VERY SLIGHTLY, but enough to annoy me and get dirt between the mat and the edge of the door.

Nice. I like how the rear mat covers the tranny hump too. I'll have to get a set too.
