why go used when you can get new for 48 a tire.. shipping at tire rack isnt expensice at all. I would recommend getting new tires with a warrinty over old tires with no warrinty .also besides that to find 40 series tires used wouldnt be all that cheap if you could find any..

no box 2 tires taped (not regular tape) together in 2 pieces..2 pieces 4 tires.. I got mine 4 days after payment... and I ordered on friday. shipped fedex. I used 2 day express cost like 45 bucks all 4. Thin of it like this.. go to any tire store in your area.. find the tire you wnat.. ask them the price Ill bet tirerack beats it by a long shot... they did in my area.. I got my kumho esstica (sp) supre 712 for 62 a tire. best in area = for same tire 112 a piece.

I probably won't get new rims and tires since I got lifetime replacements for the stock rubber when I bought the car. I might just powdercoat the rims gloss black though. It's nice to have friends in the custom business.
Very nice! Well then again.. since this friend does "Custom" work.. why don't you ask for a "Custom" set of rims? *shrugs*

I wish shipping to Canada wasn't so expensive - I put together apackage for my '04 rio from Tire Rack for US$460!
BUt, after shippng, tx, duty and coversion, it'll come closer to CAD$1000.
Might as well get'em in Canada from Tiretrends.com so far I've been able to get it dwon to about CAD$850 taxes in for 15's with 50 sries rubber.

Not in Canada you can't - the run about CAD$1200 with taxes and installation. :(
Best place is tiretrends.com in Canada
I only wish I could order from tirerack.com!
Besides, putting 17's on a 2nd gen Rio would look odd to me, and the roads around here are so cruddy, 'd have a dented rim in about a week with 40 series rubber.

OUCH! Sorry to hear that buddy.. I know for my 17's I can get either 205/40/17 or 215/45/17. But if I can find a replacement rim for the 18's that I got... I'd rather put those on..

During the summer months I am running:
Goodyear Eagle RSA's 205/50-16 on Sport Edition F2 wheels

During the winter months I am running:
Michelin X-Ice snow tires 205/50-16 on the stock alloy wheels.

I'll more than likely do the same.. run the 17's with 215/45/17s during the NON Winter Months and go back to the stock 15's with 205/60/15 (Kumho 722's) but I'm looking in possibly getting some performance winter tires to be installed on to the 15's since they'll more than likely be used.. well.. in the winter!

I'm still undecided between 195/50-15 or 205/50-15.........
Depends on what you want? Better accerleration? Better mid range better top end? etc.... Then go for the 195's .

Better handling, gripping and traction? 205's. They wont sacrifice speed too much, but you'll notice a slight difference!
