On Friday we will be picking up a 2021 Seltos SX. It will be my wife's car, but I will get to drive it some. Looking forward to it. I currently have a 2019 Sorento with the 3.3 V6. And in the past I've had a 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo, so I've already had a version of Kia's 1.6 turbo, but I don't recall what oil it used.

So, my question is, what weight oil does this 1.6 turbo require. Hoping it's 5W-30 since I have a good bit of that on hand for the Sorento.

Thanks for your help.

Use the oil "weight" called for in your owners manual and select a reputable full synthetic in that grade.

We have the car and the manual now. The answer is 5W-30 or 5W-40. I'll use the 30.
Congrats, and good time to update your profile.

Use the 30 but at reduced OCI, then switch to 0w-40 or 5w-40 that favor better car's turbo.
