What color?

The red is actually a very nice colour. Most people on the forums will have black or white. There some graphite and some blue and the other colours are very rare.

I actually would have preferred "midnight sapphire" but as stated the blues are quite rare. There was one at the dealer when I bought my bright silver EX but it was a fully loaded SX and I wasn't looking to spent that much along with not wanting the stiffer suspension that comes with the SX. so my choices where black, white and silver. I don't like the way black shows dirt and I just hate white (sorry, I know it's like the most popular color here) so silver it was. No biggie for me though since I'm color blind I don't really care that much.

RED!!! It is not the usual red. It seems to have a small amount of gold flake, and it changes shade in different lights.

My wife and I will have to wait until october/november till delivery, so got plenty of time to search for pictures/reviews and such

Food for thought, red also known as "arrest me red" is the most pulled over and cited auto color!

Might not be the best choice if it will be driven by a teen.

As I await delivery of a red Rio5 and have a 16 year old daughter this is of interest! I don't think it hurts if she thinks she needs to watch her speed more with this colour . I suspect the red car 'myth' came about as fast cars and fast drivers are perhaps more likely to be in red - there's a lot of red Mustangs, Corvettes, Ferrari's etc. that may indeed get ticketed due to speed and noticed at the side of the road.

Does she have her full license to be able to drive on her own?
I know here in BC you get your L and must drive with it for a year before you can Drive by yourself then another 2 years for your full license

No, not exactly. We are getting a 3rd car but will be for my wife, we will largely park the minivan except for trips but she will be able to use one of the cars when needed, certainly not daily. In Ontario they wait 6 months after G1 licence (accompanied) to take test for G2, they can then drive unaccompanied but some restrictions about who is in car with them especially at night. The Rio is to be a manual which she doesn't drive yet.
