we ordered ours but it will be a few before picking it up. We are planning on the splashguards, mirror, a full set of Weathertechs including the cargo and then sill plates. As for the skid plate where are you planning on taking the Sportage?

 

Nothing too crazy for now but probably camping trips in a few years when the kid is older.. Or long road trips along the east coast. We're in PA and the snow/salt combo has chewed up my 2014 Mazda pretty bad with rust..

 

From what I've seen, the OEM any guards and skid plates are all mostly cosmetic and barely functional

 

If you had not considered it undercoating will make a huge difference with rust. As for skid plates we have put no thoughts into them. We have zero thoughts to taking the Sportage anywhere that would they would be beneficial. Enjoy your ride we are looking forward to ours.

Also, get a cover for the center console (that piano black is hard to keep clean); they also make covers for the door controls

Undercoating will make a huge difference with rust

I ordered this homelink mirror; installation was easy.

do any wires need to be spliced in or is it plug and play?

Here are the "official" instructions for the Kia homelink mirror. You can use parts of this if you install the gentex mirror (like which fuses to tap and how to run wire), but I think the gentex was really easy and with the taps there wasn't any splicing.

 

I have
oem side steps ( Great if you have kids )
Smartliner mats ( Cant beat the price and look better than those hideous tuxmats)
Center console tray ( should have came with this stock, you can hold coins/etc)
Rear Cargo Cover ( Should have come with this stock, crv lower trims do!)
Rear oem all weather mat ( nice but no exterior lip to catch any liquids)
OEM Wheel locks ( nobody wants these stock rims)
OEM Cross bars ( good if you need to mount things on top but not necessary)
Also have the OEM Carpeted mats but i swap those in for summer/fall

All useful except the cross bars unless you need them, we have bikes to bring around for my daughter and shes only 9 so this will be our last car with the side steps
