Hi all.

I'm thinking about a Kia Cerato, the basic 1.6 petrol version. I've not had a Kia before, it's always been recent second-hand Fords / Rovers.

Are they a good buy? At £9k they look good value.

Hi,

I just purchased my wife a Cerato here in Australia ($AU18990) very cheap the closest in price for the same type of car was the Hyundi Alantra ($AU24990). I can say I had been looking for about 4 months and the Kia range seems to be the best for , power - weight, cost - value, fuel - Mileage etc.

The Hyundai people have a similar style car over here - can't remember which one, but it's £2k more expensive. Mind you, it does have a 5 year warranty - which is bloody impressive as a sign of their confidence in it.

The £2k price tag is likely to keep the Cerato in pole position for me - being a tightwad!
