I have bought a used Kia with its outstanding warranty balance. Do I have to register my details with KIA that I have bought the car for the warranty details to be registered to me? Does it happen automatically somehow, or does it just happen when I have a warranty claim?

Regards

The warranty is registered against the VIN / Number plate. you dont need to register anything.

As long as your service book is stamped, all information is present and correct and all conditions of servicing are upheld, the vehicle is seen to be young enough to be supported by the warranty, and as such no questions asked - repairs done, costs paid!

You will also require the original receipts to show what work was done, a stamp is not enough. Clearly states this in the service book.

With the books and receipts you should have no problems providing all work was carried out by a Kia dealer or a VAT registered garage using OEM parts and recomended lubricants.
