I took delivery of my 16' SXL and can't be more happy. I wanted to update the maps and the UVO to the newest version. I knew it was not the newest version as i took a picture of it before i left the dealer after a test drive.
Owning an Audi Q5 i was originally very concerned about how the upgrade would go for both the maps and firmware. Anyone who has ever owned an Audi knows that only a Audi Technician can update the firmware but they are the only ones that can update the maps as well! I got a general cost for the update of the maps and i was over $600. Needless to say i said no thank you.
So some quick googling i was able to find where to update the maps to the latest version of V10.5 and it was only $149. I went through the process of downloading to an SD card and it worked GREAT!
Now for the update of the firmware and went through the same process and watched a Youtube video seemed simple and it was! I performed the download and copy to the SD card and promptly went to the car and followed the instructions and BAM! updated with Carplay and other features.
I am thrilled with the ease of updating the system. The German's need to take some lessons. Overall great products so far.
