Well its a long story a little over a year ago bought a used 2010 Kia Soul+ with the 2.0 automatic with 24 K miles on it. Wife loves the car and all was well until we developed a slight ticking noise when cruising at 45-55 when engine was warm. No check engine light, no warning lights, just a clicking. Thought it might be a idler pulley or a compressor issue. Two weeks ago took it too the dealer on Saturday morning. We recreated the sound by gently loading engine against brake with car in gear. Hard to believe it was from in the engine! I believe we have 35,000 miles on the Soul. Kia checked there records and we showed them our service receipts and Kia replaced the short block under warranty. It was to be done last Friday. After it was all rebuilt and installed It failed again! New block was defective and we had a nice gumbo of oil and coolant. Dealer calls today and a new long block will arrive Thursday. Car will be back Friday just shy of 3 weeks. I have read multiple forums and appears I'm one of the first with a internal engine issue (or two). I will give Kia USA credit and the local dealer credit. They have been very reasonable to deal with we have a rental car, and they keep us posted and it will be under warranty, but boy does the wife miss her Soul.
