Hey

Does anyone else think it's strange that the SE manages to sneak into VED Band B at only £75 per year when all other models are in Band C at £105 per year? Surely the SE with its packed spec is the heaviest and therefore the least efficient? Or maybe it's to do with the spoiler and skirts reducing drag but then surely the new Glamour would be more fuel efficient?

Hi Murphwiz,

On looking at the specs it seems that the Minimum Kerb Weight of the SE is less than the other models. I guess that weight difference means a difference in CO2 emissions which is now the basis for calculation of VED rates.

Got it spot on..
It's one of the reasons picantos have no spare, if they did as standard the auto would be in the next band up apparently..

I wondered how long it would take for this to come up! :)
My girlfriend has the GS model (1.0L Engine) and was annoyed of the lower tax on the SE! :p

On my previous car (1.4 Clio) the tax for 6 months was £60.50 so for the extra £15 I get a year!! :D
