I was recently out of town on vacation with my Kia and found myself at a dealership out of my area for a warranty repair. After the repair was complete, the service guy proceeded to tell me that because I have 185/70r14's rather than the stock 175/70r14's or 185/65r14's, I'm going to ruin my transmission. Other people tell me that's baloney. Should I be concerned or was this guy trying to take advantage of a wayward tourist?

Your trie size has nothing to do with your trans, good or bad. You have NOTHING to worry about!

Hell I couldn't even ruin my transmission by accidentally draining the ATF and driving round the block. Been several thousand miles and no effect so far.

Ya, that's what I thought. He was probably trying to sell me some stupidly overpriced tires.

Yeah you got it. Those tires are a bitch too because of the TPMS in them. My light recently came on but all the pressures check out so it's a sensor or the system. :( bummer but I lived quit a while without my car telling me when the tires are low. Just means you need to look at them in the morning :p.
