sportage (2.0 L dohc) ran great. replaced timing belt , now no poer and a few pops thru intake side. ive checked the position of # 1 cylinder , all the way up and crank alignment marks line up. I and E are straight up even after several rotations. someone suggest i rotate E back a couple of teeth back .

Welcome to the forum.

It sounds like you also question the valve timing - how about taking a photo of the crank and cam timing marks lined up.

I Had mechanic (?) pull head to change gasket . this issue resolved. then timing issues, pulled valve cover , now timing good but I now have hard starting, between 2 - 3k RPM's runs good driving, but from idle up a little hesitation, i checked all sensor conections, and vacumn hoses. cant figure out what he did. Today i'm going to run engine on obd scanner urrrrr

Has the basic engine(mechanical) timing been verified, (crank snout). If this is not correct any other adjustments are redundant....

The OBDII will not divulge crank issues.... only method is visual.... Philip
