Sometimes my steering wheel doesn't seem to lock once my car is shut off. Does this seem normal?

By locking, I mean once the key is removed, the wheel doesn't lock in place like in every other vehicle I have owned.

I've experienced it, where the steering wheel is still totally power assisted but it locked after 2 seconds or so. Not sure if it's on a timer for when the key is pulled out or not. I know the EPS stays active for a while AFTER the car is turned off, but with the key in.

Might have to go and check...

EDIT: mine does the same, EPS stays active for a period of time after the key is removed. Think it was 5-7 seconds. Listen for the clicks after you shut the car off, in particular the third one, that'll tell you when the EPS shuts off :)
I can only imagine its a safety feature in the event engine power gets cut.
