Hi, i have a Sportage 4x4 2.2 Diesel year 1996, until now the fuel consumption was around 7 liters on 100 Km, now suddenly it went up to 10 liters, all in the same driving conditions, the only thing i could find until now is that the rubber tube between the air-filter and the intake have a small hole, can that be the reason for the suddenly high consumption? or any other ideas?
thanks,
Ulli

You should rectify any leak between the filter and the intake manifold....

Diesels rely on full air flow and then fuel added to accomplish acceleration Philip
