05 spectra 2.0L turns over but will not start timing belt new crank and cam sensors checked out good no codes. checked spark and it will get spark two to three times with every try then no spark checked ignition switch and if is ok. I am at a loss any help would be great

ok thanks for all the help..
the problem was a broken dow pin on the cam gear all timing marks lined up but the intake cam was out about 15 deg

I don't think we would have been of much use as this is the first time I/We have seen a broken dowel pin problem on the Spectra 2.0L engine...
So it was the pin on the rear chain driven gears? Like I said it is not a common problem.. This will help others in the future.

been a mechanic for about 45 years and it is the first time i have seen the problem but when i checked on identafix they sais it was a common problem with the 2.0 motor. the reason i posted the fix was so that it might help others
